YAHWEH SHALOM – The LORD is Peace
FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE FOR OUR 21 DAY JOURNEY: “It is of the LORD’s [YAHWEH’s] mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lam. 3:22-23)
Shabbat Shalom! Today we focus on His SHALOM to more fully understand and embrace the covenant promise in His name, YAHWEH SHALOM. But first, we must understand “shalom” is much more than an absence of conflict as we typically define “peace” in western culture. The Hebrew word “shalom” is a covenant word expressing the fruit of relationship with Him who longs to manifest His “completeness”, “wholeness”, “perfection”, “wellness”, “safety”, and “finished word” in every area of our lives. “For He is our peace/SHALOM” . . . Let us today, NOW, fix our eyes and gaze upon Jesus. . . “who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace/SHALOM, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity” (Eph. 2:14-16).
May His word SATURATE our hearts to OVERFLOW in SHALOM bringing living water to our thirst and SHALOM to our weariness. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace/SHALOM, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3). Oh Lord our God, Yahweh Elohim, reveal Yourself to us today--even as the Angel of the LORD (Yahweh) appeared to Gideon and named the place “YAHWEH SHALOM”. May Your fire fall upon the altar of our hearts this day and consume us with Your SHALOM.

Judges 6:22-24 “And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD [Yahweh], Gideon said, Alas, O Lord God [Adonay Yahweh]! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD [Yahweh] face to face. And the LORD [Yahweh] said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. Then Gideon build an altar there unto the LORD [Yahweh], and called it Jehovah shalom [YAHWEH SHALOM]; unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.”
Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD [Yahweh] is a strong tower [Megdal-Oz]: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD [Yahweh], thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
