THINKING WITH QUANTUM PHYSICS
RaJean Vawter
When you study quantum physics as it applies to prayer and faith, you quickly learn that all matter retains memory. Consequently, for a number of years, when my husband and I cleanse a room (like we did our house or when we enter a hotel room), besides casting out all spirits, oaths and vows that don’t acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and came in the flesh, we remove all memory that is raised up against the knowledge of God in the make-up of the room – the concrete, wood, plastic, fabric, wallboard, steel, etc. Then we put into everything praises to the King of kings and the Ancient of Days.
A further study of quantum physics reveals that THOUGHTS as well as words have energy. This energy presents itself in a non-audible frequency (sound) specific to the particular thought.
In fact, energy, at its quantum level, is a packet of potential. This packet of potential energy changes based on how it is observed (the frequency with which it is observed.) The thoughts of an observer emit specific frequency. If the thoughts are positive, they give off a positive frequency or energy. If they are negative, they give off a different frequency or energy. When these frequencies (positive or negative) come in contact with (or observe) a packet of potential energy, they determine whether that potential energy will respond (or become) positive or negative based on how it is observed. Like begets like. Positive attracts positive. Negative attracts negative.
Match the frequency of the reality you want and it’ll happen. As I said above, that’s because energy, at its quantum level, is a packet of potential. It changes when it is observed.
Applying this to real life, a situation changes as it’s observed. For example, how do you observe your growing up years? If you focus on all the bad stuff that happened to you, you don’t see the good and you end up with negative feelings about your past. When you rehearse the bad, your feelings follow suite and you literally think and talk your way into more of the same. Consequently, how you observe a situation becomes the reality of your past. You get what you say and what you think.
But if you bring to the forefront the good things that happened to you in your past and focus only on them, your view of your growing up years changes. It’s not that you are in denial; it’s just that you focus on the blessings God gave you and the one or two things your parents did right or the relative or neighbor who provided the respite you needed in a bad or even evil situation. In other words, you can have the past you want by how you remember it.
I’ve made trips with other women a number of times. On one such trip, I found myself traveling in a car with three other women for several hours. Somebody came up with the idea of each of us telling about our lives. The first woman is one of the most positive people I know. She spent considerable time telling about opportunities and privileges she’d been given even though I knew of many trials and tribulations she’d endured and was even then going through that would weigh a normal person down. So when it was my turn I focused on the advantages and blessings God had given me. I later realized I’d made my life sound like I'd had no trials or tribulations. I shared nothing negative about my growing up years or about what caused me at one time to loose all hope or why I’d often despaired of life itself.
The third woman weighted us down with all the bad stuff that had happened in her life, including things that she had a part in creating which she took no responsibility for. When the fourth woman shared her life story, she began by saying, “Now, let’s see, what can I tell about that was good.” Knowing her well, I knew that she could have talked about even more bad memories. It was difficult but she was determined to look at her past positively.
In retrospect and after learning something about how the dynamics of quantum physics affects our lives, I was able to see that how we each chose to tell about our past affected how we lived our lives. The woman who had focused on the negative in her life was driven (probably subconsciously) to act and talk during the week we were together as if her goal was to ruin the trip for everybody else. When the three of us confronted her, she literally stuck her fingers in her ears to keep from hearing truth.
What’s the lesson? Dee Ann Ward, a pastor in Arkansas City, Kansas says, “You can have the past you want by how you remember it.” How is that possible? It’s possible because we are a part of the boundless energy of God and God is love. We are created to love, be loved and give love. Love should be our default setting. Whatever you are giving out in life returns to you. Everything has the potential to be what you want it to be - IF you don't have your fingers in your ears.
Remember that I said it has the potential. Thoughts have energy. It’s why Paul said in Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has (past tense) made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." Living in the negative of our past is bondage. It doesn’t get us anywhere or do anything for us except make us sour, angry and/or bitter. Later on, Paul said, “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” Haven’t you experienced this truth? You start thinking about how someone did you wrong and pretty soon you’re remembering others who treated you badly and before you know it, you’re in the dumps, have lost joy, hope, and/or get to feeling like you’re worthless and won’t ever get to do anything great for God.
You match the frequency of the reality you want and it often happens. Dee Ann said that as long as she worried about stuff, she got more stuff to worry about. That’s because thinking (in this case worry) has energy. And energy, at its quantum level is a packet of potential. It changes when it is observed. We’ve all experienced the fact that how we observe a situation becomes our reality. We’re not talking about when our perception does not line up with truth. We’re talking about how we observe a situation becomes OUR REALITY. It may not be what actually happened but it’s our reality. Some people choose to rewrite their personal history to make themselves feel better or for the sake of pride. We’re not talking about that. Instead, we’re talking about choosing to focus on the positive elements in our memory bank.
What do you think about yourself? That’s a good question that many don’t want to answer. For various reasons, false pride or because it’s what they were told about themselves growing up, most people want to think very poorly about themselves and so that becomes their reality. But is it truth? I have written in the back of my Bible what an old timer said years ago, “Be who you be, ‘cause if you ain’t who you is, you be who you isn’t.” I used the phrase, “most people WANT to think very poorly about themselves” because that is exactly what it is. A choice. OUR choice. I lived with the same bad choice until the 1980s when I finally had one person in my life who consistently acted and spoke to me as if I had real value. She was the first person to validate who I was, what I liked and that it was OK to have different tastes and desires than my mother or sisters or friends or my husband. Once that genie was let out of the bottle, it took off – which is exactly what God wanted. The result follows exactly something else Dee Ann said. She said, “Go ahead and be yourself because everybody else is taken.”
When we were younger, Gary and I talked about the possibility of adopting a child or two. So when our last child entered school, I asked him, “Do you think now is the time we should adopt a child?” Much to my surprise, his response was, “No, I think it’s time you discovered yourself.” And he was right. I didn’t know who I was; I’d always been who everyone else said I was. It took years to discover who RaJean Thayer Vawter is and the process wasn’t always pleasant. In fact, I think there were times when Gary regretted telling me to start the search. Besides having to learn to live with a totally different woman, he ended up having to find out who he was too. The result of a lot of hard work has been well worth it. It all had to do with our thinking.
Taking the subject of what we think even further, did you know that the physical heart of a person actually thinks? Scientists call it the mini-brain. As we retrain our mind to clean it up of all the negative thoughts, we must focus on something about a person or situation that we can legitimately love. The power now is FOCUS. We’re not talking about denial and sin is not the issue. We must focus on our own or another’s potential, the Divine within.
Our thoughts as well as our words create the future. So take a future situation, think about it with a sustained effort and FEEL what you’ll feel when it happens. According to quantum physics, you’ll get it because feeling pushes it to a higher level in the natural. Scripture to go along with this is the creation story in Genesis 1 and Hebrews 11:3 – By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
I know, this sounds crazy; even like New Age. But it’s actually a truth that the occult has stolen and perverted. It might take a while to wrap your head around this. But in line with what I’ve said above, meditate on the following scriptures and I think you’ll soon perceive that these scriptures do not just speak into the spiritual realm; they can be proven in the natural, scientific realm.
Matthew 12:34 . . . out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth the good. And an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth the evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
1 Corinthians 2:16 . . .we have the mind of Christ.
2Corinthians 10:5 . . . pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ;
Proverbs 23:7 . . . for as he thinks in his heart, so is he;
Philippians 4:8 Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things.
So how does this relate to people who have not treated us right? Remember I said we’re to focus on a person or situation we can legitimately love. We’re able to legitimately love anyone because they are made in the image of God and Christ died for them as much as He did for us so that part is done. Our challenge is to get better about disciplining our minds when we think of them and to not focus on what they did and where they aren’t spiritually. Instead, we must focus our minds and memory on the good and godly aspects that we can legitimately love and appreciate.
What if you don’t know or can’t find any good or godly aspects? Then we have to search deeper. As a young person, when faced with such an individual I was puzzled. “Why does nobody like them when the Bible tells me that God loves them?” I wondered. “He must know something about them that none of us knows.” Every time I’ve encountered these kinds of people and have sought to find out how God can possibly love them so much, I’ve come away enriched. Connecting such a search with the lessons of quantum physics, we learn that we must focus on the potential of the Divine within them. Doing this will obviously change how we pray for them as it will cause us to pray from a positive, biblical angle that is from above. This is not so much of a prayer strategy as it is a life strategy that is actually the working out of our prayers on behalf of others.
But there’s more. We must go beyond “just” watching our words as we’ve always been taught. We must also take more control of our thought life. We’re not to live in denial. It’s a matter of FOCUS.
