Reflecting His Glory
This morning as I listened in on Esther's Hour National Strategic Prayer Call I began to reflect on the power of God’s Glory operating in us and “through” us. So many times we speak of His glorious light shining forth in the darkness and making such statements about light, but it struck me that we haven’t even began to understand the power and energy source that light carries, and how we equate His Light with His Glory.
So what do we mean when we make the statement; Christ in us the hope of Glory? (Colossians 1:26-27)…What glory? Our glory or His?
Well ….both…In the beginning God created man in His likeness and image and “gave man glory”. Ponder that, we were created to be carriers of His glory! ( Ps 8:3-6 ; Hebrews 2:9-13; 1 Corinthians 2:7-8) God’s glory rested upon man as his crown and clothed him as his covering, now through Jesus that glory will be restored.
Are you being changed into His image, walking in His likeness and glory? Has this “new birth”, the process of glorification began it’s process in you? Are you yielding yourself to Holy Spirit allowing this good work to come to completion? ( 2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:3-10; 3:20-21; 5:25-27) God’s glory is being manifest in an even greater degree in His Church, allow the Blood of Christ to have it’s work take place in you and through you, so you can not only stand in God’s glory, but be a carrier of that glory!
“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them,
that they may be one, just as We are one;” …..John 17:22
I conclude with a poem by Smith Wigglesworth, often referred to as The Apostle of Faith;
My soul is filled with boundless love
Whilst gazing on the precious blood,
I catch the rays of Jesus’ face
Transfixed in me, the Throne of Grace.
Wonders beyond the human mind
Rushing into me, a Life Divine,
I feel the Power of the Holy Dove,
And speak in “Tongues” of things above.
