What if the “wealth transfer” was not about finances, but about souls?
Let’s look at some examples from Father God’s perspective.
Haggai 2:7-8 is often quoted as wealth transfer texts, but let’s take a closer look at the context. Start in verse one and read through to verse eight. It is about the restoring of God’s House, His temple. The discussion is directed to His people Israel, now look closely at verse seven, God is bringing in the nations and they will come with their wealth, the results God will fill “this house with glory”. Since God already owns all the gold and silver, what would be precious to Him? The nations being brought into His House of course! Let’s examine a point in verse five; what promise was made to Israel when they came out of Egypt? Exodus 19:4-6 answers the question; Israel would become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation to the nations. Exodus 12:38; Numbers 11:4; 1 Corinthians 10:6 all tell us that when Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage they brought with them a mix multitude of peoples. These peoples were from the nations, and they had joined themselves to Israel and Yahweh God by covenant, first by circumcised into the Abrahamic covenant, then by the application of the Passover lamb’s blood on the door posts ( Exodus 12:43-49). These were spoils for the household of Yahweh God and a transference of wealth from Egypt into the nation of Israel for God’s glory. Did Israel also bring out articles of gold and silver and clothing, yes. For God had given them “favor” in the sight of the Egyptians and thus they “emptied” Egypt.
Note what Exodus 3:21-22 tells us; “the gold, silver and clothing: you will put them on your sons and daughters”. Follow the reasoning that sons and daughters are our inheritance, just as the LORD declares that the nations would be the inheritance to His Son, Psalms 2:7-8.
Now, you are asking, well what does this have to do with wealth transference? Remember we are looking at this through the lens of heaven. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, all the gold and silver are His. To Father God His children are his most valuable thing, sons and daughters are the inheritance. He is seeking souls, He is shaking nations so that the valuable things will come forth. From the very beginning He wanted all the nations to come to Him. The restoration of all things includes the nations, which mean peoples, souls. There are numerous Messianic prophecies pointing to this; Isaiah chapters 60-62, Joel chapters 2-3, and Amos 9:12, and of course the great commission scripture of Matthew 28:19-20.
So then, are we emptying “Egypt” of her wealth for God’s House? Not brick and mortar buildings, but the true reality the spiritual house of His sons and daughter who will inherit the kingdom of Heaven and be united as one new man, both Jew and Gentile Believers in Messiah or King and Redeemer.
I encourage you if we have seen anything come out of this time of sequester it’s that God does not need our church buildings, nor our conference platforms to deliver the message of the Gospel, neither does He need our structures in discipleship to bring in a harvest of souls.
Let us “plunder hell for heaven’s gain”, as the great Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke proclaimed.
Sylvia Davila just shared this with me. I think Isaiah 45:3 is key to unlocking this mystery! Please read her blog. https://poetwriterdreamer.wordpress.com/2020/02/10/riches/?fbclid=IwAR1El8onKHTbl1XeDzeuVEGbczAGp3KS32of21a1Xi0DPX12SN7unozrtNo
